This is a design-based research (DBS) of my PhD project on classroom dialogue of science subjects in secondary education. She expects the product to undergo 2-3 iterations according to her collaboration with first-line school teachers. The product aims to facilitate student-student and student-teacher classroom dialogue, as well as students’ intrinsic motivation to engage with the learning materials. Her research aims to focus on 

  1. Finding supports and challenges that science teachers in China face when trying to conduct high-quality classroom dialogue; 
  2. Investigating the design components that secondary school students find intrinsically motivating for them to engage further in learning and classroom dialogues.
  3. She may also look at whether neurodiverse students benefit more from the design product.
